Time for another in the Sunday Snippets series. This is where I share what’s been happening during the past week, in my world of genealogy. I’ve had a busy week, deep diving into research, writing blog posts and reading some of the amazing family history stories that are published on Substack. I also have exciting news, coming soon.
I hope you enjoy the following stories. Just click on the images for the link.
Ollie - If Only I
Ollie made me laugh this month as I read about his visit to Melbourne, capital city of Victoria, where I live. This was a great read. I love reading of Ollie’s view of Melbourne.
BJNL’s Genealogy
This is the 7th part in Jane’s series about Richard Lang. I’m looking forward to what’s coming in the 8th part.
Paul Chiddicks
This is a wonderfully creative way that Paul has chosen to tell his family story.
The Chiddicks Edition
I look forward to the Chiddick Edition every week. I can usually rely on Paul to highlighti a newsletter that I haven’t previously come across. There are two this week.
Your Family Quest
“Mortally wounded in a duel with a bandit”. I had to keep reading.
Diane The FH Bowerbird
This is Diane’s contribution to the Genealogy Matters prompt: Brickbuster.
Letters from LaBelle
A sad and tragic story about the deaths of women in this family
Projectkin
This week on Projectkin we had Kathy’s Corner discussing two important topics for family historians. It left me with much to think about.
Coming up

Thanks Jennifer for including my story from the Genealogy Matters Storyteller Tuesday Challenge.
Thanks @Jennifer Jones for mentioning my Richard Lang series in your Sunday Snippets this week. It's been a bit of a marathon (both in researching and writing). Two more to go ... one focused on the enslaved people in his life and the other on the DNA research I did to try to figure out whether he is my 4th great grandfather (like so many trees suggest but without convincing evidence), or not.
