Time for another in my occasional Sunday Snippets series. This is where I share what’s been happening in my world of genealogy. Sunday Snippets will appear weekly in 2025.
Genies and family historians on Bluesky were posting their connections during the week. Of course, I couldn’t resist.
Genstack
l don’t spend a huge amount of time on Substack, and there are many interesting newsletters that I sometimes miss. To keep my FOMO under control, Genstack is where I go each Sunday, to catch up. Robyn Stewart publishes Genstack each weekend. This a wonderful resource for anyone interested in family history/genealogy, with articles written by family historians, podcasts, blogs, video and more.
Mission Genealogy Roundtable Conversation
These Roundtable events are casual, get togethers on Zoom, for anyone who is interested family history and genealogy. We check in with each other on project work, inspiration, and new resources. Discussion is lively, and I always leave having learnt something new.
Kathy’s Corner
Kathy’s Corner with Kathy Stone, is a monthly Projectkin event. Kathy is a professional archivist and photo organiser. This is only the second Kathy’s Corner that I’ve attended but I will be making sure that I don’t miss any next year. Kathy was so inciteful, and as I was listening to her, I remembered things that I had wanted to and intended to do with my photos and files, but had put on the backburner and out of my mind. I now have them planned out as projects for next year, and am excited to get them started.
Push and Pull of Platforms
I’m very excited to announce that I will be one of the speakers at a Projectkin Event on Zoom, along with Jane Chapman of Wellington, New Zealand. In this session, we will discuss the changes being made to how our stories are shared with our families and other genealogists.

Aw shucks, @Jennifer Jones, thanks for the mention and most of all for coming along with @Jane Chapman and me on this adventure next month. I'm so looking forward to the conversation. I think it's relevant and even important for all family historians and genealogists on Substack!
You even included the registration link! 😉 Just to be sure it's handy though, it's: tockify.com/eventscalendar/detail/57/1736467200000?startms=1735718400000
