Hanorah Ahern was my 4x great grandmother and my convict ancestor. This is the fifth in the series about my convict ancestors. Before reading this, it would be best to catch up with the story of Hanorah, and how she came to be transported to Australia, served her term, received her ticket of freedom and lived a prosperous life.

Deaths
Death - Hanorah Lowe
Hanorah died on 16 November 1839, at age 43, in Hobart, Tasmania. She had been in Van Dieman’s Land for 25 years, and was buried in the Catholic Cemetery behind what is now St Mary's Cathedral in Hobart. The cemetery no longer exists and there is no record of the location of her grave. The stone wall (below) is all that remains of the burial ground. 1
Death - George Lowe
George died on 12 November 1861, at age 78 at his residence, Roope Street, New Town, Hobart, Tasmania. after a long illness. He was buried at the St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery, New Town.2 There is no headstone.
