Reading this as my eyes close for the night. A great idea that I’ll follow up with soon. Like you, I’m all over the place with my research. I focus for a bit, then I’ll get an inquiry about another family so off I go following that trail. Ah it’s all fun though.

Oh if only!! I check everyone's surnames mentioned, and have yet to find one of 'mine' - but maybe one day, eh? :)

Hi Jennifer, a couple of the names are in my tree not sure about the places though. I have Cox in Somerset (around Taunton) and some in Dorset and Cornwall. I believe the Somerset ones may have come from elsewhere in the 1600s. I have Morrison on my maternal side in Scotland. They seem to have been in lots of different places but have ended up in Aberdeenshire. You could start a trend by sharing your research. I have lots of different ones that I need to list...

I'm not so sure about our Cox family Emma. Those that I've followed so far come from the Bath area. As for our Morrison's, most stayed in Glenshiel, but of those who moved I haven't found any around Aberdeenshire.

Great idea! I've checked other's surnames also, but nothing yet. My main lines of research are:

BOATRIGHT/BOATWRIGHT: Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk; Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois

WOOLRIDGE/WOOLDRIDGE: Scotland, probably around Edinburgh

McCARTNEY: Unsure where in the UK

SEAWRIGHT: Ireland, South Carolina

FIELDS: Alabama, Ireland

HERN/HEARN: Kentucky (Greenup, Hancock, and Madison counties)
